The World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Lisbon is where the ten regional winners will meet the jury and present their projects in front of a live audience of architects, fellow students of architecture and architectural media. Winners are teams selected from the following regions: 1) Western Europe, 2) Eastern Europe and the Middle East, 3) the Americas, 4) Asia and Oceania, and 5) Africa. “When students come to Lisbon and stand in front of jury to tell their daylight story and to listen to jury’s comment and feedback – it will be of a tremendous importance to their professional development and future career,” says International VELUX Award programme manager, Per Arnold Andersen.

“The International VELUX Award brings students from all over the world together on the topic of daylight, and after having worked on their projects in closed circles of their teammates and teachers in their schools, students really appreciate being in the same room together with other selected teams, and present their project to the esteemed jury,” he explains.

“The success of being selected from hundreds of submitted projects is already there, setting up the celebratory tone, even before the global winners are chosen! So, we can certainly say that in Lisbon, there will be a room of future architects that will create the light of tomorrow.”
